Welcome to the new advocacy page!
This page is dedicated to those wanting to change the world.
Goals of this year:
To create awareness campaigns to make school population more educated about the problems abroad
**Enhance understanding of life in Africa and problems that affect the society and children
Acheivements:
This is a list of achievements that we can only hope will continue to grow over the upcoming years:
Fowarded below is a message from our Vice-President Melissa Mcgrath--
Steff Springer's goal for the NYD Advocacy Committee branch is 5,000 letters district-wide. As a NYD Key Club we should speak up for what we believe in in order to see change! We have every right to contact those in ranks above us, such as the government, that could put these changes into affect.
By contacting our government officials and other community leaders we learn a feeling of responsibility, growth, morality, and change for the world. The first step to change is being aware and letting your voice be heard. So, stand up and be counted, help Steff reach her goal by the end of this Key Club year in March!
Sign up with some of these organizations online and they can send you petitions and other letter that you can support for multiple different causes. Once you sign up please print them out and give the letter you receive, whether a thank you letter or the copy of the letter you signed, to our secretary!
Here is a message from our webmaster (a.k.a. me!)
If you don't own a printer or it's not working, save a copy of the letter and foward an attachment to my email address getagripp@optonline.net and I will give it to the secretary for you.
Here are some links to the latest sites on how you can make a difference. These pages include various petitions that can change the world. These links have been approved by our Advocacy Comittee. We ask you (as always) to give us your thoughts and opinions. If you'd like one to be added please feel free to drop us a line in the feedback box! Thanks!
